Privacy
What this site collects about you, how long it is kept, and how to opt out.
Last updated September 16, 2026
The Money Campus has no accounts, no ads and no tracking cookies. Two small tools from Vercel, the company that hosts the site, count visits and measure how fast pages load. This page says exactly what they record. Nothing collected here is sold to anyone.
What is collected
Visits: Vercel Web Analytics
Each page view records:
- The address of the page, and the page template it uses.
- The site you arrived from, and filtered query parameters from the link, if there were any.
- Your approximate location: country, region and city.
- Your browser and operating system, with their versions, and whether you are on a phone, tablet or desktop.
- The time of the visit, and the version of the analytics script.
Visits are counted without cookies. Vercel groups page views into a visit using a hash made from the incoming request, and discards it after 24 hours. Vercel states that the data points are not tied to any individual or IP address, and cannot be used to follow you across other websites.
Page speed: Vercel Speed Insights
Each page load reports how quickly the page appeared and responded, along with:
- The address of the page, and the page template it uses.
- Your connection type, for example 4g.
- Your browser, operating system and device type.
- Your country.
- The time Vercel received the report, and the version of the script.
Vercel states that this data cannot be used to reconstruct a browsing session or to identify you.
What is not collected
- No names, accounts or passwords. There is nothing to sign in to.
- No advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.
- Nothing is sold to anyone.
How long it is kept
Vercel keeps visit data for at least the reporting window of the site's hosting plan, which ranges from one month to 24 months depending on the plan, and says it may keep data longer so that changing plans does not lose history. Vercel does not publish a separate retention period for page-speed data.
How to opt out
There is no switch on this site to turn off, because nothing is stored in your browser. If you would rather not be counted at all, a content blocker or turning off JavaScript stops both scripts from loading. Every article still reads in full without them.
Who handles the data
Vercel Inc. hosts the site and runs both tools. Like any host, it processes technical details such as your IP address in order to deliver each page. Its own privacy notice (opens in a new tab) covers that.
The newsletter
Subscriber emails are held by Buttondown, the newsletter platform this site uses to send issues. The sign-up form passes Buttondown two things: your email address, and the IP address you signed up from, which Buttondown uses to check that the sign-up is genuine and not spam. Buttondown stores both, along with the referring page the sign-up came from.
Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe link. To unsubscribe, use that link or email hello@themoneycampus.co directly. Unsubscribing stops the emails straight away, but Buttondown keeps your address on file, marked as unsubscribed, so it can't be added back by mistake.
To have your address deleted outright rather than just unsubscribed, email the same address and the request goes to Buttondown to remove it from their servers, usually within a few days.
